ABOUT THE TOP 101 PRODUCERS

The Top 101 Producers showcase the artists whose productions have been supported the most by DJs around the world. It's a 100% data-driven ranking, and something that is very unique in the music industry. In many cases, the artists in the Top 101 Producers receive recognition beyond what they can get from other rankings or beyond their current perceived standing as an artist, and we take great pride in providing exposure for these artists.

The Top 101 Producers 2023 features the artists whose tracks were most supported by DJs on 1001Tracklists.com.
The rankings are calculated by summing up each artist’s unique DJ support between October 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023.

What is a unique DJ support?

A unique DJ support is one artist supporting a single track.

• If three artists each play a track once, this counts as three unique DJ supports. 

• If one artist plays a track three times, this counts as one unique DJ support. 

• If one artist plays two of your tracks, this counts as one point per track, so two unique DJ supports.

What types of DJ support count?

We count DJ support from qualifying DJs in the 1001Tracklists database. For radio shows, we count shows which have demonstrated consistent listenership and distribution. We regularly review all shows on the site to determine the shows that qualify for counting towards the charts.

One artist can support another artist a maximum of 5 times to count towards the rankings. For example, if David Guetta supports Oliver Heldens on 10 different tracks, this will count as 5 unique supports for the rankings.

WHich Tracks are eligible?

Tracks are included if they have been supported by at least three DJs and have one or both of the following: 

• A first release date within the last two years.

• A first play within the last two years.

How is each artist’s score calculated?

Easy! We sum up the unique DJ support for each of an artist’s tracks to generate their total, and thus their placement in the rankings.
